What
happens when comfort and curiosity share the same address? The Alter Ego
explores the space between the familiar and the unexpected, bringing together
global dishes, techniques and ingredients through an Indian lens. The result is
a restaurant with two distinct personalities: Blanco, the easy-going
ground floor built around Classics, Comfort and Community and Noir, the
more expressive first floor shaped around Elevate, Express and Explore.
Global
in expression. Indian by instinct. Every dish has an alter ego.
The
menu follows the same instinct. The Truffle Edamame Upma takes a Mumbai
staple and gives it a truffle allowance it never asked for. The Borough
Breakfast pairs a crispy potato waffle with perfectly cooked eggs, while
the Bombay Poach borrows the confit garlic achar your grandmother swears
by and gives it an entirely new setting. The Grilled Cheese picks up an
Indo-Ethiopian spice blend somewhere between Colaba and Addis Ababa and keeps
running with it. The Sea Bass and Broadway Bowl continue the
conversation between comfort and curiosity.
