From Blueberry Cloud Cheesecake Matcha to Matcha Jaggery Latte - Malgudi Expands Its Menu

Mumbai’s much-loved South Indian café Malgudi is giving its menu a fresh twist with a new Matcha Collection. Known for its comforting classics and easy, nostalgic vibe, the café is now bringing the globally loved green tea into its kitchen—without losing the warmth that regulars come back for.

The new range is built around ceremonial-grade matcha, chosen for its smooth texture and clean flavour. Instead of keeping things traditional, the team has paired it with flavours that feel familiar and fun for Indian diners. The result is a lineup of drinks that are playful but still thoughtfully balanced.

Among the highlights are Blueberry Cloud Cheesecake Matcha, Mango Berry Matcha, Emerald Pistachio Cream Matcha, Rose Fusion Matcha, and the comforting Matcha Jaggery Latte. Each one plays with a different flavour profile while letting the earthy notes of matcha come through.

For Chandrashekhar Rai, CEO of Malgudi, the idea wasn’t simply to jump on the matcha bandwagon. The goal was to introduce it in a way that feels true to the café’s approach. He explains that while younger diners are curious about global trends, they’re also paying close attention to quality. Using ceremonial-grade matcha and pairing it with flavours that feel both fresh and comforting was key to making the concept work.

The move also reflects how Malgudi continues to evolve while staying rooted in what people love about it: approachable food, thoughtful drinks, and a café atmosphere that feels relaxed rather than flashy.

With the new matcha lineup, Malgudi adds a modern layer to its menu—one that blends global inspiration with the café’s familiar charm.
